Ing. Daniel Amar Amartey is a Power System Engineer with over twenty years’ experience as Power System Protection and Control Engineer. Prior to his current appointment, he served the company as the Manager for Research & Network Innovations. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, and the Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Ghana Business School, University of Ghana, Legon. He joined Volta River Authority (VRA) as a Management Trainee in November 1996 from Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL). He worked as the Akosombo Area Protection & Control Engineer, the System Protection & Control Engineer and briefly as the System Metering and Instrumentation Engineer in the VRA and GRIDCo. He was instrumental in the introduction of modern protection and control devices and substation automation systems in the National Interconnected Transmission System. He led various teams to commission a number of network expansion projects. He has received professional training in both local and foreign institutions in Power System Protection, Energy Measurements and Leadership Development. He is a Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE).
