Mr. Pius Ayemva Avio was appointed Acting Director, Finance in May 2025, following the appointment of Ing. Samuel Nkansah as a Deputy Chief Executive (DCE).

In his current role, he provides leadership and oversight across GRIDCo’s financial functions including, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury Management and Tax Compliance.

With over two decades’ experience within VRA and GRIDCo, Mr. Avio has held several key managerial roles. Over the past fourteen years, he has been Manager, Financial Accounting; Manager, Business Development for GRIDTel; Manager GRIDConsult and Manager, Commercial Finance and Tax.

Prior to joining VRA in 2002, he was the Project Accountant for FOSADEP, an NGO at the Catholic Bishop Secretariat in Bolgatanga.

Pius holds an EMBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School; an MA in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast; an LLM in Tax Law, Policy and Practice from the University of Ghana School of Law; an LLB from Central University and a Bachelor of Commercial degree from the University of Cape Coast,

Mr. Avio is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). He is also a Chartered Tax Practitioner and a Lawyer.
