
Benjamin Kingsford Ntsin
DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING
Ing. Benjamin Kingsford Ntsin has over twenty-nine years’ experience in the power sector in Ghana and across West Africa. He was reassigned in May 2026 as the Director, Engineering having been moved to the Procurement Department in April 2025, following his earlier reassignment from Director, Engineering Planning and Design to Director, Northern Network in March 2022, all in the Ghana Grid Company LTD.
As Director, Engineering., he is responsible for all network reinforcement and expansion projects both in planning, design and project implementation.
As the Director in charge of Procurement from April 2025 to May 2026, Ing. Ntsin was responsible for all corporate procurements to ensure timely network maintenance and operation as well as for speedy implementation of internally executed projects and for strategic stock of critical spares, tools and equipment.
As the Director, Northen Network Department (NND) [from March 2022 to April 2025; he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the National Interconnected Transmission System of Ghana, as well the interconnections with Ghana’s neighbours. As Director, NND, he was responsible for the planning, operation and maintenance of the transmission system infrastructure in about ten out of the 16 Regions of Ghana.
He also headed the Engineering Planning and Design Department of the Company from 2018 to 2022. During the period, Ing. Ntsin was responsible for the planning, design and implementation of capital projects including; the integration of major power plants; utility-scale renewable energy systems; construction of transmission lines and substations, as well as interconnections between Ghana and some of its neighbours. He spearheaded the relocation of the Karpowership Power Barge from Tema to Sekondi Naval Base; the 330kV Transmission Line Backbone from the coast (Aboadze) to the Northern part of Ghana (Nayagnia, Upper East) and associated Substations, as well as a few Bulk Supply Points.
Ben Ntsin is an expert in Power System Planning & Analysis and conducting Feasibility Studies [for Generation and Transmission Systems and for the supply of power to a few bulk customers in Ghana]. He led the Power System Planning Team that worked with the Consultant to develop the blueprint for Ghana’s Generation and Transmission System Expansion Plan since 2011. Ing. Ntsin has also been involved in the integration of major power plants into the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS) of Ghana, including AKSA, Amandi Energy (Twin City Energy), Sunon-Asogli, Bridge Power and Karpowership Barge both in Tema and now at the Sekondi Naval Base.
Ben holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra and a BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He is a Professional Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GHIE).
