
Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah is the Member of Parliament for the Kintampo North Constituency in the Bono East Region and is currently serving his second term in the Parliament of Ghana. A dedicated and highly committed legislator, Hon. Kumah has established himself as a strong voice in Parliament, with deep interest in its oversight, law-making, and deliberative functions. He presently serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Education and as a member of the Committees on Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration; Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions; and Private Member’s Bill and Private Member’s Motion. In the 8th Parliament, he served on the Committee on Education, the Committee on Judiciary, and the Committee on Subsidiary Legislation.
Hon. Kumah’s professional journey spans over two decades in education, public administration, and community development. He has served as District Director at the National Service Secretariat, Financial Committee Chairman for the Kintampo North Municipal Assembly, and an Economics Master/House Master at Sang Community Day Senior High School, among other leadership roles. His public service record reflects a deep commitment to mobilizing resources, fostering partnerships, and delivering practical development solutions in sectors including water and sanitation, education, health, agriculture, sports, and social interventions.
Hon. Kumah holds a Master of Arts in Local Government Administration from the Institute of Local Government Studies, a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Social Sciences (Accounting) from the University of Cape Coast. He also holds G.C.E Advanced and Ordinary Level Certificates from Tamale Secondary School and Bole Secondary School respectively, His professional development includes advanced training in Parliamentary and Judicial collaboration at the International Law Institute (ILI), Washington, DC, USA and the International Centre for Governance and Policy (ICGP) in London, UK.
A devout Catholic, Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah is a family man, married and blessed with seven children – three girls and four boys.
