Eighteen (18) GRIDCo staff, all of whom are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), participated in the 2026 Accountants’ Conference, held in Ho from 18th to 21st May 2026. The conference, themed “Building Strong and Sustainable Economies: Standards, Integrity, and Accountability”, brought together over 2,000 participants from across the country.

The discussions centred on the growing importance of sustainability reporting, ahead of the mandatory implementation of IFRS S1 and S2 from 1st January 2027. Key insights highlighted sustainability as a core business requirement, the need for organisations to identify emerging risks and opportunities, and the critical role of strong governance and leadership in driving effective reporting.

The engagement aligns with GRIDCo’s ongoing preparations in this area. In 2025, Management established a Sustainability Reporting Working Group, co-chaired by Ing. Bismark Anane, Director, Lands Management, and Mr. Samuel Kow Acquah, Director, Corporate Strategy, to steer the Company’s readiness for the new reporting standards.

GRIDCo’s participation in the conference further strengthens staff capacity and reinforces the Company’s commitment to accountability, transparency and sustainable operations ahead of the 2027 compliance deadline.
