The message from GRIDCo is clear: “Vacate the Right-of-Way (RoW) voluntarily or face lawful removal.”
GRIDCo’s sensitisation team continues to engage individuals and businesses occupying or carrying out activities within transmission corridors as part of a nationwide campaign to clear encroachments from ahead of enforcement actions.
This exercise goes beyond clearing land. It is fundamentally about protecting lives and property while ensuring engineers and technicians have safe and unhindered access to transmission lines when carrying out maintenance and emergency works.
Encroachment exposes people living and working around the lines at serious safety risk. It also obstructs access to critical infrastructure, complicates maintenance activities and can delay the restoration supply when faults occur.
Through community engagements and public education, the team is encouraging affected persons to leave the transmission corridors voluntarily before lawful enforcement and removal begin.
Keeping the RoW clear is ultimately a shared responsibility. A safer transmission corridor means safer communities and a more reliable electricity supply for Ghana.
Staff are encouraged to reshare, repost and update their social media platforms with the RoW creatives shared on internal platforms.
