GRIDCo and German Development Bank Kfw are set to finalise financing support for construction of a 330kV Transmission line from Accra to Kumasi.
The €116 MILLION supplemental facility agreement will be signed by the Minster of Finance once parliamentary approval is secured.
The Chief Executive Officer of GRIDCo, Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi initialled an agreement for Fichtner to prepare the bidding document now that Kfw Bank, has accepted the recommendation of the feasibility study.
When completed, the 116-million-euro transmission line is expected to reinforce the supply of power within the Eastern and Ashanti Regions of Ghana.
GRIDCo believes the move will further boost the transmission of power to Burkina Faso and neighbouring countries.
The signing ceremony held in Germany is a follow-up to an initial agreement between KfW, and the Government of Ghana.
