The 2023 Energy Games, organized under the auspices of the Energy Ministry, took place on a rainy August 18, 2023, featuring various engaging activities involving different Agencies under the Ministry. The games included football, table tennis, volleyball, video games, mentally stimulating challenges, traditional games, and more. GRIDCo participated in several events, with mixed results.

In football, GRIDCo was in Group 3 with the National Petroleum Agency (NPA) and Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST). They drew 0-0 against the Ministry of Energy’s Team and lost to NPA in the next match. In Tug-of-Peace, they won against the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) but lost to the Petroleum Commission in the semi-finals. GRIDCo excelled in Male volleyball, becoming champions, and also secured the second position in the Ladies’ ludo competition. However, due to the rainy weather, several activities for both ladies and men, such as volleyball, tug-of-peace, and tennis, were canceled.

GRIDCo’s Management and Staff congratulated all participants and winners while encouraging those who faced challenges to improve through practice. The Local Organizing Committee also received a pat on the back, for their dedication to making the event a success. The games served as an opportunity to build a community of talented athletes within GRIDCo, contributing to their overall achievements.
