Some Post Graduate Electrical Engineering students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), have undertaken a familiarisation tour of GRIDCo’s Power Simulation Centre at the Anwomaso Substation in Kumasi. The Centre hosts critical training items, such as mini transformers, voltage management equipment, etc.

The MPhil students were led by Prof. Emmanuel A. Frimpong, a lecturer from the College of Engineering.

The Network Maintenance Manager, Ing. Bismark Anane and his colleagues, Ing. Ferdinand Addai and Ing. Christian Kweku Adjei briefed the students on the technical knowledge required for the management and operations of Ghana’s power system. The students described the visit as edifying and expressed the intention to revisit the Power Simulation Centre soon to undertake some practical sessions, especially in power protection.
