The Paramount Chief of Kpando, Togbe Dagadu IX, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive, Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi to connect with and formally introduce himself to the Company.
Togbe Dagadu, who was installed about two (2) years ago, has been engaging the leadership of organisations that operate within his traditional area. GRIDCo operates the Akosombo- Asiekpe-Ho transmission line infrastructure and the same for the Kpeve-Kpando-Kadjebi line in the Volta Region.
Supported by some Management staff; Director, Corporate Strategy, Ing. Mark Baah; Director, HR, Ms. Florence Agyei; Director, Audit, Mr. Ben Ntim and Director, SND, Ing. Hussaini Adams, the CE, Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi extended a warm welcome to Togbe Dagadu, elders of the Kpando Traditional Council and other members of his entourage.
Togbe Dagadu raised two issues of concern to his paramountcy namely, delayed compensations for citizens of Kpando and the need to have Corporates like GRIDCo support some development projects in Kpando.
Ing. Essienyi indicated to Togbe that, Kpando is dear to him because of the accomplishments of the late Ing. Norbert Anku, a former Director; an indigene of Kpando. He also indicated that the transmission line in the area is also crucial to GRIDCo’s work within the Eastern Corridor.
On the issue of delayed compensations, Ing. Essienyi asked that those affected should contact GRIDCo immediately to verify claims and based on the outcome, the prescribed action(s) would be taken.
About requests for developmental support, CE stated that as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, GRIDCo assists communities in which it operates. He called for further discussions to consider which areas of support will positively impact the people of Kpando.
Togbe Dagadu expressed gratitude to the CE and Management for the warm reception and discussions. He was optimistic that it is the beginning of a stronger collaboration and relationship between his paramountcy and GRIDCo.
