As part of the Internal Auditor’s Month Celebration, a four-member team from KPMG paid a working visit to GRIDCo to share in the month-long celebration and discuss potential collaborations between the two organisations.

Ing. Mark Baah, Director of Corporate Strategy, Mr. Richard Ntim, Director of Audit (DIA) and Staff of the Audit Department warmly received the team.

The KPMG team, led by Mrs. Elizabeth Kwarteng Tei, Senior Manager of Governance, Risk and Compliance, and Council Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana (IAA Ghana), expressed profound gratitude for the meeting. She outlined various activities KPMG is undertaking to commemorate the celebration, including an article writing competition for students, a webinar, and panel discussions on Internal Audit (IA).

Explaining the choice of GRIDCo for collaboration, Mrs. Kwarteng Tei commended the Company’s strong representation on the IAA Governing Council, both currently and in the past, which testifies to GRIDCo’s significant contributions to the IA community.

She congratulated Mr. Richard Ntim on being awarded the “The Gilbert Ohene Dokyi Outstanding Personality Award” by the IAA, praising him for setting a precedent for others to follow.

During the visit, Mr. Ntim outlined GRIDCo’s planned activities to engage staff on the new standards of auditing and the evolving role of IA. Ing. Mark Baah, then provided an overview of GRIDCo’s operations and the critical role it plays in Ghana’s energy sector.

To climax the month-long celebration, the IA Team organised a Seminar for GRIDCo’s Management Team. The session was facilitated by Mr. Eric Yankah, Past Chairman, African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (AFIIA). Discussions centered on the topic, “Realising the value of Internal Audit Function: The role of the Board, Senior Management and the Chief Audit Executive”.
