In a heartwarming display of praise, President John Mahama lauded a National Service Person, Miss Stephanie Baan assigned to the Akosombo Operational Area for her dedicated efforts as part of the engineering and technical team, who worked on the Akosombo restoration works.

As part of his regular check in with the Joint GRIDCo-VRA Team, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Jinapor chanced on Miss Baan, working in the night with other engineering colleagues who worked round the clock to bring the six (6) units back into service. Dr. Jinapor informed the President of her doggedness to contribute her quota to the restoration works and thus commended her.

President John Mahama asked that GRIDCo automatically employs her immediately after her national service. In a related development the National Service Scheme (NSS) also applauded Miss Baan, stating in a social media message that NSPs are not just service persons, but contributors to national development.

GRIDCo Congratulates all Teams and Colleagues including, Miss Baan, who worked in diverse ways on the Akosombo restoration works to bring back 1000MW of power onto the national grid.

Miss Baan is an electrical engineering aluminus of the University of Mines and Technology, UMaT; currently undertaking a one-year National Service tenure.
