The Board of the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company as part of its week-long benchmarking tour to GRIDCo, engaged Energy Ministry officials.

The courtesy call with the Minister was to understand the Energy Ministry’s mandate, and how policies are followed diligently by its sector agencies, as well as insight of the regulator’s work.

In his welcome address, the Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. William Owuraku Aidoo, acting for the Minister away on official duties, extended greetings to the team and discussed with them possible collaboration of the Ugandans and GRIDCo,

We are happy to have you here in Ghana, and hopeful that your benchmarking tour ends with a mutual collaboration of your entity, and GRIDCo, Ghana’s transmission Company, who have over the years carried out their mandate in a very professional way,

he said.

The Uganda Delegation briefed Hon. Owuraku about their meeting with GRIDCo earlier on Tuesday, where they participated in a welcome ceremony and joint press conference organised by GRIDCo to brief the media about their week-long visit.

The UETCL CEO, Michael Taremwa assured the Deputy Minister of mutual collaboration with GRIDCo.

UETCL is proud of GRIDCo’s accomplishment and optimistic of a mutual collaboration between both companies, since Uganda has a lot to learn from Ghana’s Transmission Company.

The team assured the Deputy Minister of a possible mutual collaboration between the two Uganda and GRIDCo.
