GRIDCo’s Right of Way Team is set to complete the clearance of the 24km 161kV single circuit Kumasi to Konongo Transmission Line Corridor in the Ashanti Region.
The clearance is in accordance with Transmission Line Protection Regulations, 1967 (LI 542) as amended by Regulation No. LI 1737 of 2004, to remove illegal structures which are obstructing the reconstruction of the J2K Line.
With the support of relevant entities, such as the security agencies, a team, led by Commander Yankey (Rtd.), Security & Right of Way (RoW) Protection Unit, and the Kumasi Operational Area, hope to complete the clearance of all structures identified as obstructing the J2K work.
The team expects to complete the clearance by Friday 15th April, 2023.
