A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Board and Management of the Ghana GRID Company (GRIDCo) and the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETC). The MoU was signed at a debrief and closing session hosted by GRIDCo Board Chairman, Amb. Blay Amihere and Management of a study tour of the UETC Board in Accra on Thursday 30th September 2022. Also, part of the session was Ghana’s High Commissioner to Uganda, Amb. Damptey Asare-Bediako.
Mr. Kwame Ejalu Ejuku, Board Chairman of UETCL, praised the engagement of the Board, the technical sessions, which made up the study tour, the facility visits and particularly, the hospitality of GRIDCo’s Board and Management.
I appreciate your willingness to share because, not everyone would willingly open up about their success. The preference is to keep it under wraps, so as to remain the only shining star
Michael Tamrewa, CEO of UETCL indicated his belief in Africa’s ability to solve its problems;
Africans need to collaborate with other Africans because it’s the only way we can solve the continent’s challenges for a better future
The Board Chairman thanked Ghana’s ambassador to Uganda for facilitating the process that led to the Board of UETCL coming to Ghana, which has now led to an MoU to maintain a relationship between both entities, with a mutual collaboration for the medium to long term with the Ugandan transmission entity.
