GRIDCo recently welcomed a delegation from the French Development Agency, [Agence Française de Développement (AFD)], as part of the AFD’s supervisory mission for the K1BSP-K2BSP Transmission Line Upgrade Project, which the Agency is financing.

The Upgrade Project involves the reconstruction of the existing 161kV Ahodwo (K1BSP) to Anwomaso (K2BSP) transmission line, which will replace the existing single circuit line with a double circuit line to improve the line’s capacity.

Led by the Deputy Country Manager, Claire Delamare, the delegation engaged with GRIDCo’s Management to review ongoing projects and discuss opportunities for future funding.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the System Control Centre (SCC), where they were received by the Manager, Market Operations, Ing. Mrs. Linda Baah. At the SCC Control Room, Ing. Stephen Debrah, Manager, SCC, provided an overview of Ghana’s National Interconnected Transmission System, highlighting GRIDCo’s vital role as the System Operator.

During the concluding interaction, Ing. Frank Otchere, Director, System Operations, on behalf of Management and staff, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for AFD’s ongoing financial support since GRIDCo’s inception.
