GRIDCo is honoured to have its Manager, Monitoring and Financial Audit, Mr. Joseph Dakora Zumasigee elected and sworn in as the new President of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Ghana.
The elegant swearing-in, which was held at the Alisa Hotel, Accra, on August 30, 2023, saw the induction of the new governing council, with Mr. Zumasigee assuming the role of President of the Institute.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Zumasigee acknowledged members of the previous governing council for the excellent job done during their tenure and vowed to maintain the momentum to achieve more laurels going forward. He highlighted the current challenges in the Ghanaian operational environment and the efforts of IIA Global to dedicate its focus on its stakeholders. “IIA Ghana will position itself to deliver quality services to meet stakeholders’ highest expectations. The institute will contribute its quota to address the current and emerging challenges”, he said. He also assured members of the readiness of the new council to advocate for good governance practices and strengthened collaborations between all stakeholders to achieve the institute’s strategic objectives.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director General of the Internal Audit Agency, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae expressed his unflinching support for the new council, urging them to carry out the institute’s mission with selfless dedication.
Mr. Zumasigee had served as a member of previous governing councils, the latest being in the position of Vice President in the immediate past governing council of the Institute.
